Shake Shack Burger, often referred to as the ShackBurger, is a burger consisting of toasted potato bread, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, and ShackSauce.
Other menu options at Shake Shack include hot dogs, fries, chicken burgers, frozen custards, beer, and wine.
Since its establishment, it has grown at one of the quickest rates among food chains.
In late 2014, it filed for an IPO. On January 29, 2015, the offering was priced; on the first day of trading, the shares’ original price of $21 shot up 123% to $47.
Origin of Shake Shack Burger
New York City started restoring Madison Square Park in 2000 after it had become neglected and in poor condition.
The establishment of the Madison Square Park Conservancy was spearheaded by restaurateur Danny Meyer as part of the reconstruction.
An art display named “I 3 Taxi” was held inside the park to increase awareness of the rejuvenation effort, which was one of the first things the Conservancy undertook in order to restore the park.
In the kitchen of Eleven Madison Park, one of Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group locations, a hot dog cart was set up by Randy Garutti, Meyer’s director of Shake Shack Burger operations.
It took us years to perfect, but now you can master the art of a flawless burger in five minutes, as with all deceptively easy things.
Components
4 hamburger potato buns
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
4 tablespoons Not Quite Our Shack-Sauce
4 pieces green leaf lettuce
8 ¼-inch slices ripe plum tomato
Four pucks made from one pound of extremely cold ground beef
½ teaspoon Our Salt & Pepper Mix
4 slices American cheese
Directions of Shake Shack Burger
Step 1: Bring a cast-iron griddle to a warm temperature over medium-low heat.
Toast the buns on the griddle, greased side down, for two to three minutes or until golden brown.
Place the buns on a platter. Place the sauce on the top bun using a spoon.
Raise the temperature to medium and cook the griddle for two to three minutes.
Step 3: Lightly season each beef puck with a pinch of our salt & pepper mix.
Step 4: Put the pucks, seasoned side down, on the griddle.
Each puck should be thoroughly mashed into a circular patty that is 1/3 inch thick using a broad, robust metal spatula.
Step 5: Cook the burgers for approximately 2½ minutes, avoiding the temptation to move them, until the juices on the top are boiling hot and the edges underneath are crisp and golden.
Flip the hamburgers. Add cheese on top and cook over medium heat for another minute.
Step 6: Slide the cheeseburgers onto the buns that have been prepared and savour.
Notes: For the salt and pepper combination, we season our burgers while they are cooking by combining ½ cup kosher salt with ½ teaspoon freshly ground pepper.
Recipe Tips
Start with high-quality, delicious ground beef.
That is 100% grass-fed and grass-finished beef, which is usually 85% lean and 15% fat, in my opinion.
Pat LaFrieda suggests using 25% brisket and 75% chuck for a lighter mix or 20% short rib and 80% chuck for a deeper blend, all of which should be ground at home, according to the Shake Shack cookbook.
The business uses Martin’s potato rolls for the buns
I don’t anymore. You may use my favourite recipe to create your own potato buns, or you can purchase any high-quality soft hamburgerbun.
Although these burgers are quick and simple to prepare, I don’t advise preparing them ahead of time because they taste best immediately after grilling.
Even the second time, assemble the burgersand toast the buns only before serving.
